Excellent service & sushi quality! The drinks were fun too - they have a surprisingly robust beer selection as well. The chef special rolls were well worth it!

This seaweed salad has a much richer flavor than other seaweed salads I have eaten before. I would also like to point out that the ginger that comes on the side of a sushi roll here is thick and juicy. There are not a ton of vegetarian options but there ARE options available. I also had the Riki Tiki Tini, which tasted like it should be a candy. And of course, a Mai Tai is a classic, so I had theirs here, too. They were tasty drinks.

This place is always phenomenal sushi. They have a great selection, not just your normal spicy tuna and salmon cream cheese (altho they have these too!) Try the Triton Tuna and flaming Mermaid if you like spicy. The Lemon on some of their rolls is definitely a lil surprise and nice touch. You may have to wait so during busy hours Weekends, evenings, ect expect to wait a little, but good things take time and worth the wait.

Service was great but this was the worst sushi experience I've had in the Pittsburgh area. Edamame was $6 (overpriced) and was waaay overcooked to the point where it was grey and mushy. I ordered the poke bowl which was supposed to come with a cabbage slaw. The cabbage looked like it was bought presliced and had no dressing on it whatsoever. Pic attached where you can see the dry cabbage. The poke bowl was literally just unseasoned chunks of fish, dry cabbage, fish row, and scallions. No sauce. We saw this restaurant was top rated and were severely disappointed, especially for the price point, serving size, and lack of quality of some of the menu items. Also the drinks were tasty but weak and overpriced.

First off this is NOT a real sushi place. This is a "we throw a bunch of different stuff in a roll and call it sushi". Several strange rolls, many are very similar but called something different. Had a rainbow roll. They used smoked salmon instead of actual sushi salmon and they were out of avocado. If you are looking for good SUSHI, do not go here. Service was good.

I was recently visiting Pittsburgh and was recommended this restaurant by some friends. The experience was a 10/10! Our server was Rylan and she did such an amazing job. She was very friendly yet professional! Our food was absolutely delicious! The chef roll I ordered from Erin has to be the best sushi roll I have ever eaten. Definitely going to recommend The Slippery Mermaid to all my friends back home!

We ordered a Japanese Bagel roll which comes with salmon, avocado and cream cheese… well not yesterday… picture attached no words needed. We contacted the restaurant and they were very nice and kind, offered to make a new roll for us but at that time we had already finished our dinner and was not convenient to make the trip to the restaurant. No other compensation was offered. So basically, we paid for a product that was not provided. My advice if you order food to go, check that they took the time to prepare the rolls as they are described in the menu or you asked for.
